Must Have in Spring-Summer
As days get warmer, I think of simple ways to consume healthful meals or snacks.
One of them is fruit smoothies. Instead of ice cream, eat thick flavorful smoothies to cool off and refuel your body with lots of nutrients.
It’s thick so it takes more time to drink and more filling than liquid.
In Finland, where I live now, the Summer is synonymous with berries like bilberries (a cousin of blueberry), strawberries, cloudberries, lingonberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
For this batch of smoothies, blueberries and strawberries were easy choices.
I use a sweet fruit instead of sugar or sweetener to sweeten the deal. This time honeydew I had cut up and froze a couple of days ago was it. Often, I cut up and freeze ripe bananas for this purpose.
Put all ingredients in a powerful blender.
And blend until everything is mixed and smooth.
It is refreshing, delicious, filling, colorful and nutritious.
